What a wall graphic has to get right
A clean, long-lasting install comes down to matching the media and adhesive to the wall itself. Three things matter most.
Coverage
Wall media runs up to 60″–64″ wide and panels cleanly for larger dimensions, so a single graphic or an entire room can read as one continuous surface — corners and outlets included.
Finish & durability
Stocks range from smooth matte to canvas, plaster, and textile-weave finishes, rated anywhere from a few months to several years indoors or outdoors depending on the media.
Removal
Adhesives span permanent, high-tack, repositionable, and ultra-removable — so a graphic can be built to stay for years or to lift cleanly without damaging paint.

Good things to know about wall graphics before you specify a project.
Will wall graphics damage paint or drywall?
Not with the right material. Removable and repositionable adhesives are made for walls that have to stay intact — leased offices, seasonal retail, event builds — and lift cleanly without ghosting or peeling the paint. Permanent and high-tack stocks are built to stay, so the choice depends on whether the graphic is temporary or long-term.
What wall surfaces can be printed for?
Smooth drywall, cinderblock, brick, concrete, glass, and laminate are all workable. The key is matching the film to the texture — flat stock for smooth walls, highly conformable cast vinyl for rough block and brick — so the graphic lays flat instead of tenting over the surface.
What’s the difference between permanent and removable media?
Permanent stocks use higher-tack adhesives built to stay put for the life of the install. Removable, repositionable, and ultra-removable stocks use lower-tack, microspheric, or water-activated adhesives designed to release cleanly. The tables above group every wall medium by exactly this distinction.
Are the inks safe for schools, offices, and hospitals?
Every wall medium above is compatible with latex inks, which are water-based, low-odor, and well suited to occupied indoor spaces like classrooms, clinics, and corporate interiors — and most also run on solvent, eco-solvent, and UV.
How large can a single wall graphic be?
Wall media runs up to about 64″ wide in rolls of 75 to 164 feet. Anything larger than a single drop is paneled and aligned so the seams fall into the design — which means there’s effectively no ceiling on finished size, from a feature wall to a full atrium.
Is a wall graphic the same as wallpaper?
They overlap. Printable wall media includes pre-pasted and paste-activated wallcoverings as well as self-adhesive films and fabrics. The difference is that a wall graphic is custom-printed artwork — branding, murals, wayfinding — rather than a repeating decorative pattern, and it’s specified for a particular surface, lifespan, and removal behavior.
