The DISTO S910 -is for measurements that play hard to get.

The Leica DISTO S910 is the first laser distance measurer that captures multiple, accurate measurements in three dimensions from a single location, radically improving the efficiency of common measuring tasks.

SmartBase for the DISTO S910

SmartBase, a biaxial pivot integrated with the circuit board, is the key hardware innovation. Combined with a more powerful laser, a 360° tilt sensor, and new software, SmartBase enables you to stand back from your target to measure the distances and angles between multiple points.

SmartBase facilitates three new remote measurement functions:

• Point to Point (P2P): Measure the tie distance between two points, even if you are hundreds of feet from your target. Shoot Point 1 then Point 2 and the DISTO S910 displays the distance between them. Widths, heights, diagonals, gaps, it doesn’t matter: Just measure the start and end point and the distance is displayed.

• Smart Area: Shoot the corners of any polygon to determine the area of walls, floors, even complex roof shapes. This includes outside angles, which is a first for a laser distance meter.

• Smart Angle: Shoot three points to measure any angle (including outside angles, which is a first).

Use a Tripod 

For maximum accuracy the SmartBase requires a simple level check. This guarantees the electronic level of the DISTO S910 is within ± 0.1° of true level. For the highest measuring accuracy you will want to use a tripod for the majority of P2P, Smart Angle and Smart Area functions.  The S910 includes a metal insert for a ¼” tripod thread, found at the bottom of the SmartBase (and a 5/8” adaptor is available).

Features and Functions

1000 ft range: The big receiver lens and the module it is connected to can see a laser dot outside at distances up to 1000 ft, depending on conditions.

Add & Subtract: It’s not always so simple as taking one shot to get the measurement you need. Sometimes is handy to add multiple shots together, or subtract a negative space from the measurement. As you use the Add/Subtract function, the final result is displayed in the main line, and the last measurement taken is shown above.

Compass: The S910 is like that big Swiss Army knife you always wanted, the one with all the doodads. The compass is useful for answering questions like, “Wait. Is this the north elevation or the west elevation?” or “Which way am I facing?”

Height Profile Tracking: Measure slopes with multiple shots. Each shot is stored as a profile pair that references the step before it.

Timer: Set a timer to delay a measurement the same way you would with the shutter on a digital camera.

Touchscreen: The S910 is a touchscreen laser distance measurer. In addition to making it easier for you to switch between the functions, you can use familiar pinch and expand motions on the touchscreen to zoom the camera in or out. In Measure in Picture mode, you can tap an d hold the brackets used to identify the points in the picture that you want to measure.
